How I View Art Making...

It's visceral and fast. I'm awash with passion and feeling. At my very first moment of knowing my Mom was talking to me (was I two or three years old?) - right then I was already smearing my Grandpa's shoe polish into a mural on his wall. 
I've wanted to make art with everything, and I've lost a lot of it and given a lot of it away. 
Friends have been my art teachers,  blessing me with their stories of how my art's affected their emotional and psychic life. They remind me it's cool to be goofy and loving, and that creativity is what it's all about.
Dazzled, moved, silenced, stilled by what I paint - These are the sensations that I have when watercoloring or drawing or dirtying a brush. When a certain Feeling is upon my skin, I just want to get it out, so I can see it.
Sometimes it's years later that I realize I didn't really get it out, I actually was fooled into letting a feeling in.
