Miko's work has been known to leave a lump in my throat. I'm always amazed at the way Miko pulls the unusual from the ordinary, finds the miracle in the commonplace. My favorite Miko creations are those of the feminine form made breathtaking and sublime through his vision and treatment. As a personal note, when I met Miko 16 years ago, he challenged all of the provincial, narrow philosophies that shaped my insular suburban upbringing. He compelled me to question and discover. Through Miko, my life has been sculpted into something more glorious—bolder—than it ever could have been, had I not found him as a friend. His creations reflect that same desire to challenge, embolden, and question.

I find all of Miko's work beautiful, unique and very alive. His pieces, even the seemingly simple, straightforward pieces, contain a complex intimacy that makes it possible for the viewer to hold a different emotional experience with each consideration of the piece. I bought Miko's piece entitled "Utopia You" from his show at Ragin Shrimp. This piece, in particular, often confronts me with a coarse sadness, other times profound nostalgic empathy, and other times a mixture of these feelings and others. Some pieces are very clean and powerful in their sharpness, while others are likened to subtle, yet interestingly schizophrenic, poetry.

I have been a fan and collector of Miko's art for many years. Most of the rooms in my home are adorned with his work, and my Miko screensaver on my office computer gets many compliments. His work is at times profound; at times whimsical, even irreverent; and always compelling. Miko's use of color captivates and illuminates wherever his art is displayed.

combining the best elements of picasso, dali, and warhol, miko takes multimedia art to bold and adventurous places that probably only warhol could have imagined, had he been alive today. from cubist continuous line amazements such as "Loss", to digital image/multimedia amazements such as "Postcards From Earth" and "Phaeress at the Waterline", scanner experimentations such as "Human Flower" and"Between". to the bold colors and gripping combinations of visuals and text as used in "Sand Through My Fingers" Miko's art boldy defies both boundaries and descriptions as he continues to synthesize the best elements of classic schools of painting, photography, and sculpture into bold new works. and even the art in and of itself is not enough for this artist - ever searching to give his work a more human touch and appeal, Miko has foregone traditional matting and framining to use masking/sihouetting to make even his backing boards and frames a unique and breathtaking work in their own right.
truly, this is art on the frontier of a new age...

I first encountered the work of Miko at an art-show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was taken in by the lucid realizations of imagery from the dreamscape and the archetypal imagination, all rendered in rich color and a touch of fine madness. I soon met Miko and was impressed by his focus, not just as an artist but as a mind at work, ferociously sifting through ideas about art, culture, language, imagery, and the mind. As a human being who loves to talk with others when he's not producing his constantly evolving body of work, Miko is an engaging conversationalist and very very smart, a trickster of sorts with words. As an artist, Miko's images touch us with their playfulness, frivolity, and a tip of the iceberg of what the total man is really all about.
Miko - this website kicks ass. I'm very proud of you.

just google me
You MUST see this artwork in person. It's postively breathtaking. The first time I saw it was in the home of a friend with tons of artistic displays in their home, overwhelming in number but the ONLY piece that I inquired about was Miko's Art.
