Colors turn to shapes and shapes turn to liquids which flow and intermix and intermesh into the ever growing ever undulating complexities and shapes, emerging into a sensual fluidly chromatic guitar.
An Acrylic Guitar Painting.. Play!
is a painting I made from countless moments experiencing that synesthetic experience practicing and playing my guitar, where you reach particular moments of sensational drift that become indestinguishable from each other.
Colors blending like liquid were the most intuitively visual experiment path I felt in making this painting, first beginning with just emptying out globs of acrylic paint on the canvas straight from the tube, and beginning to dab them in motions reminiscent of the punctuation of rhythm itself.
There is something to the rhythm, which you know if you're a player of music, that when transparency to colors of tone and chroma of melody converge, the strangest most beautiful epiphanies sometimes emerge, seeming to paint themselves effortlessly, when we exhaust ourselves with play.
